Problems related to reoperation of thyroid carcinoma

Abstract:

Objective

To analyze the reason of reoperation for thyroid carcinoma，to summarize the experience of primary surgery and reoperation.

Methods

Reoperative reasons of 15 cases were analyzed.

Results

Residual cancer rate of primary operation was 46.6%，postoperative complications were obviously higher than primary surgery.

Conclusion

Misdiagnosis，missed diagnosis，postoperative residual cancer and the extent insufficiency of primary surgery were the reasons of reoperation and the reoperation should be reasonable.
