Abstract:

 Objective
Combining the endovascular technique and traditional surgical thrombectomy to improve the outcome of the acute ischemia of lower limbs.
  Methods
From Sep.2004 to Dec.2008,24 cases of acute ischemia of lower extremities were treated by combination of endovascular intervention and traditional surgical thrombectomy. In some cases, thrombectomy was followed by PTA or stent implantation.
  Results
Emboli in the artery of lower limbs was successfully removed in all cases.Re-obstruction of the arteries was identified in 3 cases.Toe amputation was performed in one case while no major amputation was performed and all patients were alive during the perioperative period.
  Conclusion
The combination of endovascular technique and traditional surgicalthrombectomy can improve the outcome of the acute ischemia of lower limbs.
