Clinical progress of radiofrequency ablation for thyroid disease

Abstract:

Radiofrequency ablation(RFA), a new, safe, effective and minimally invasive treatment for solid tissue tumors, has extensively been applied to neoplasms of liver, bone, kidney and breast. Now RFA also has been used to treat thyroid disease, and has showed certain benefits. This article comprehends the mechanism of RFA, current status of experimental study and clinical application and complications.
