Abstract:

Iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS) is a clinical syndrome which causes lower extremity chronic venous incompetence, varicosities, the higher number of deep-vein thrombosis, and other symptoms resulting from pelvic and lower extremity venous flow obstruction caused by the compression of the iliac vein. The clinical manifestations include lower extremity swelling, superficial varicose veins, pigmentation in the foot and boot area, and venous ulcers. Traditional surgery has been replaced by intravascular surgery. Balloon dilation and stent implantation have a good clinical effect and better patency rates. This article reviews the progress of related documents in IVCS surgical diagnosis and treatment at home and abroad.

Key words: Iliac venous compression syndrome, Endovascular treatment, Patency rate
