Abstract:

Objective

To summarize the experience of the combination operation of laparoscopy, choledochoscopy and duodenoscopy for treatment of extrahepatic bile duct stones and stenosis of terminal choledoch during the course of therapeutic laparoscopy (LCDST).

Methods

The clinical data of 1594 patients undergoing LCDST were analyzed retrospectively from March 1992 to March 2009 in our hospital.

Results

The procedure was successful in 857 in 905 cases with primary suture of duct incision and 633 in 689 cases with T tube drainage. Fourteen cases were shifted to open common bile duct exploration. Bile leakage occurred in 59 cases. Residual stones were not removed by endoscopy in 11cases. Fifteen cases were other complications. Five cases died postoperatively.

Conclusion

If patients are suitable, LCDST is a feasible, safe and effective method for skilled endoscopists.

Key words: Common bile duct diseases, Laparoscopy, Cholelithiasis
