Relationship of lymphatic vessel density and axillary lymph node metastasis in the invasion breast cancer

Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the relationship between lymphatic vessel density (LVD) and number and level of axillary lymph node metastasis in the invasion breast cancer.

Methods

A total of 95 case of invasion breast cancer in our hospital were collected from June 2009 to June 2010. Specimen of the peripheral region of tumor in breast cancer and stain lymphatic vessel in them with D2-40 monoclonal antibody was obtained, their LVD and relationship between lymphatic vessel density and homonymy axillary lymph node metastasis were calculated and Analyzed.

Results

There was a positive correlation between the LVD in the peripheral region of breast cancer and the number and the level of axillary lymphatic nodes infiltrated by tumor cells(r=0.856, 0.664 respectively).

Conclusion

The LVD in the peripheral region of breast cancer is correlated with the number and level of axillary lymphatic nodes infiltrated by tumor cells.
