Diagnosis and treatment of postoperative gastroparesis syndrome after radical resection of colorectal cancer

Abstract:

Objective

To explore the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of postoperative gastroparesis syndrome(PGS) after radical resection of colorectal cancer.

Methods

The data of 11 cases of PGS from January 2000 to March 2010 were analyzed retrospectively.

Results

All patients were cured. Their colorectal fuctions recovered in14-28(18.5±5.4) days by conservative treatment.

Conclusion

By eliminating the tension of the patients, continuing gastrointestinal decompression, enhancing nutritional support and using the medicine reasonably, the outcome of treatment for the PGS will be good.
