Abstract:

Objective

To evaluate the clinical efficacy of implantation of autologous peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC)for the treatment of toe or heel ulcer and rest pain in lower limb arterial ischemic diseases.

Methods

Mobilized patients'own stem cells with G-CSF for 5-6 days.On the sixth day,PBSC were collected with a blood-cells separator.Later,the PBSC were intramuscularly injected into the ischemic areas of the lower limbs.

Results

After implantation,all patients were followed up from 10 to 45 months.The rest pain disappeared in 15 patients，while toe or heel ulcers were cicatrized in 11 cases.4 patients failed to be followed up.

Conclusion

Implantation of autologous peripheral blood stem cells is an effective method for extremity arterial ischemic disease and further exploration is needed.
