Reason analysis and therapy of sterility infertility and recurrent spontaneous abortion with Budd-Chiari syndrome

Objective

To stduy the reason and therapeutic principles of sterility infertility and recurrent spontaneous abortion in married women of reproductive age with Budd-Chiari syndrome.

Methods

The clinical data of 146 female patients with B-CS from January 2008 to June 2010 were reviewed retrospectively.

Results

The surgery methods and drug therapy were selected according to the types and the patient's conditions of the B-CS, following-up half two years postoperation. Fifty-six cases had menstrual disorder history, 42 cases recovered, the cure rate was 75.0%(42/56). Ten cases had a successful pregnancy or fertility, the pregnancy rate was 31.3%(10/32). The platelet levels increased significantly(P<0.05), therein 78 cases recovered. Sixteen cases had sex hormones examination, all of them were abnormal before treatment, improved markedly(P<0.05) and 11 cases recovered.

Conclusions

Budd-Chiari syndrome is a risk factor in women of reproductive age of sterility infertility and recurrent spontaneous abortion.Early and accurate treatment can correct the menstrual disorder of such patients and improve pregnancy rate and fertility rate.
