Abstract:

Endovascular treatment has become the standard therapy modality for peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD). During recent years, with the application of drug-eluting stent and long balloon, the outcome of PAOD treatment has been improved evidently. Accordingly, the indications of endovascular treatment have been expanded as well. For patients accompanied with chronic kidney disease or radiocontrast media allergy, duplex-guided endovascular treatment possesses special advantage and has been increasingly used in clinical practice. This article summarizes the development of duplex-guided endovascular treatment for PAOD.
