Perioperative intestinal mucosal barrier damage and systemic inflammatory response syndrome in abdominal surgery

Abstract:

Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) is one of the common and urgent problems during perioperative period of abdominal surgery. Intestinal mucosal barrier damage leads to the shift of bacteria and bacterial terms, activation of immune cells in the body, excessive release of pro-inflammatory mediators, breaking of the balance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines, and plays an important role in promoting the development and progression of SIRS. SIRS increases the incidence of perioperative complications, which will cause multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) or even multiple organ failure (MOF) in severe cases. To promote the postoperative recovery of patients, it is necassary to study the important role of intestinal mucosal barrier damage in SIRS during perioperative period of abdominal surgery.
