Abstract:

Objective

To observe the effect of postoperative immune-enhancing enteral nutrition on elderly gastric cancer patients.

Methods

Eighty patients undergoing chemotherapy after stomach cancer surgery were chosen from January 2014 to February 2015. According to the random number table method, patients were divided into control group and observation group, with 40 patients in each group. The observation group were treated with immune-enhancing enteral nutrition, while the control group with conventional enteral nutrition. Immunoglobulin, T cell subsets, nutrition indicators after chemotherapy, hospital stay defecation, and the first exhaustion time in two groups were compared.

Results

After treatment, compared to the control group, in the observation group IgM, IgG, IgA increased significantly, CD3, CD4, CD8, TF, PA, ALB, Hb were higher (P<0.05), hospital stay time, defecation time and the first exhaustion time were significantly shorter, and these differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Postoperative chemotherapy in gastric cancer patients can significantly improve the immune function, and shorten the length of hospital stay, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
